Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, stated that some Nigerians possess greater financial resources than he does. During a tour of his Lagos refinery by House of Representatives members on Saturday, the billionaire addressed accusations of being a monopolist.
Dangote expressed his frustration with the label of monopolist, which led him to withdraw from plans to invest in the steel industry.
“Monopoly involves preventing others through legal means. No, it’s a level playing field where whatever advantages Dangote received in cement, for instance, others received as well, and some even benefited more than us,” he explained.
