Nigerian actress Hilda Dokubo has been temporarily suspended from her position within the Labour Party (LP) in Asari Toru local government area of Rivers state. The decision was made during an emergency meeting of the party’s ward executive committee on July 15, as reported by NAN.
Dokubo, who currently holds the role of LP chairperson in Rivers state, is accused of various offenses including financial misconduct, abuse of office, and breaching party regulations.
A letter signed by Ajalamonia Ibama, the ward chairman, Lole Amacheer, the secretary, and Emmanuel Ibama, the treasurer, officially confirms the suspension of Hilda Dokubo. Addressed to the LP chairman of Asari Toru, the letter also bears the signatures of Osaki Dieypiriye, the women leader, and Osaki Dokubo, the publicity secretary.
The ward executives stated that their decision to suspend Dokubo was reached after a comprehensive investigation into allegations leveled against the 54-year-old actress. They emphasized that substantial evidence had been uncovered to substantiate the accusations of financial misconduct, abuse of office, and violations of party regulations.
