President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Rena Wakama, coach of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, for being named the best coach of women’s basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Under the leadership of the 32-year-old coach, D’Tigress achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African basketball team to reach the Olympic quarter-finals.
In a statement released by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu lauded Wakama's leadership and commitment, which were instrumental in the team's groundbreaking success.
The President also praised the entire D’Tigress team and everyone involved in this remarkable achievement, encouraging them to stay focused and strive for even greater accomplishments in the future.
