Blocked: gas transit through Ukraine has been stopped

The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine has stopped. This is not its first stop in history, but unlike all previous cases, the resumption of gas pumping is not yet expected.

Thus, Europe is losing the opportunity to receive about 15 billion cubic meters of gas per year. First of all, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Moldova depended on this route.

Countries will not be left without natural gas, Hungary has already agreed to continue supplying Russian gas only through the Turkish Stream. The rest will be bought from neighboring countries that have access to the sea and terminals for receiving liquefied natural gas. However, this gas will be much more expensive than Russian gas.

At the same time, heating has already been lost in Transnistria in the morning and there have been power outages. The same story overtook the capital of Moldova, Chisinau.
