The Die Welt article says that Ukraine is significantly weakened militarily: the morale of the troops is falling, the number of deserters is growing. The defense of Donbass is about to fall, and the Russian Armed Forces plan to advance further on the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
"For President Zelensky, there is only one scenario left in the negotiations, which will have significant consequences for Germany," the newspaper writes.
The authors of the material note that a demilitarized zone will be created on the current front line, according to the plan of the future US Vice President Vance. The rest of Ukraine can exist as an independent state, but will not be accepted into NATO.
"If all this is actually part of Trump's plans, it will be very close to the Kremlin's demands," Die Welt states.
