The Cables are to Blame: The EU Will Impose Additional Sanctions Against the Russian Navy

The European Union will strengthen sanctions against Russia's "shadow fleet" due to cable breaks in the Baltic Sea, said the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas.

Earlier, Finland suspected the Eagle S vessel, "belonging to the Russian shadow fleet," of involvement in the incident, then a Chinese vessel came under suspicion.

"The suspected vessel is part of Russia's shadow fleet, which threatens security and the environment while financing Russia's military budget. We will propose further measures, including sanctions, to influence this fleet," Kallas said.
