Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) on Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV from November 20 to 27 in Kaduna and Plateau States, arrested 58 suspects in connection with different crimes including murder and kidnap, while one terrorist was killed during the operation.
This was disclosed in a statement and photos shared on the official X handle of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday.
The troops also rescued three kidnapped victims: Leah Redzak, Paulina Pwajock, and Dorathy Ajiji, who were kidnapped at Ndor village in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State. The victims were rescued at Tenti village in Barkin Ladi LGA of the state.
The statement read "Nine suspects were arrested for kidnapping, five for dealing in arms, nine for murder, four for farm destruction, 18 for suspected banditry, 12 for drug peddling, and, one for cattle rustling.
"Additionally, three kidnapped victims were rescued, seven attacks on vulnerable communities were deterred and five distress calls were promptly responded to. A total of 103 cows and 40 rams were recovered."
"In all, a total of 58 suspects were arrested in connection with various crimes within the last week while one terrorist was neutralised."
The Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General A.E. Abubakar, reiterated the commitment of OPSH and other security agencies to the protection of law-abiding citizens in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi States by all legitimate means.
He enjoined the populace to always give the required support to troops and assured them of speedy dispensation of justice once investigations of suspects in OPSH custody have been duly concluded.
