Popular Nigerian comedian, Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, better known by his stage name, Okey Bakassi, has taken to social media to celebrate his 30 years in the comedy industry.
The stand-up comedian made the announcement on Tuesday via his verified Instagram handle with the caption:
“It has been 30 years on stage as a professional artiste. The journey has been tough, but God has been with me.”
Writing, he further extends invitations to the public to grace the occasion as he set to tell the story, the secret and the strategies that have sustained him for these number of years.
“On the 1st of October at Eko Hotel Convention Centre Lagos, I'll be telling the story of my PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Please join me for a ONE NIGHT STAND.”
Okey is a contemporary of the likes of Basketmouth, AY, I Go Dye, among others who made beautiful entries into the comedy industry in mid 90s but came to the limelight through Night of A Thousand Laugh organised by the comedy veteran, Opa Williams.
