Delta: Warri, Effurun Residents To Enjoy Steady Water Supply Soon

Residents of Warri and Effurun in Delta State will soon enjoy steady water supply in their respective homes, the management of Don Domingo Water Company Limited (DDWCL), has assured.DDWCL, a subsidiary of GTAssets group, is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) incorporated as the concessioner in charge of the Warri – Effurun Water Plant Reticulation, Rehabilitation and Operation.Speaking when the company received Delta State’s commissioner for water resources, Dr Isaac Tosan Wilkie, the chief executive officer of the company, Mr Temitope Akinyemi, said rehabilitation work at the plant is 80 percent completed under an earlier works programme and that the design for a hybrid solar power plant to power the water treatment plant is ongoing.According to him, the company will commence pumping of water to residents in Warri and environs within a couple of weeks.He said the visit by the state government’s top official marked a crucial step in the state’s commitment to clean and safe drinking water access for its residents, even as it underscored the strides taken by DDWCL in adopting advanced technologies and eco-friendly practices to ensure the security of the city’s water supply. Futuremap reports that the Warri Water Treatment Plant is a $25 million project initiated by DDWCL and the Delta State Government to demonstrate the bid to establish sustainable and dependable water supply infrastructure in the state and country as a whole.
