INSECURITY: A THREAT TO NATIONAL INTEGRATION SAY GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA

National integration can never be said to be without a concrete measures to curb the menace of insecurity... Insecurity over the years has been one of the core problems watering down the cooperate existence of national polity.

Yesterday, the South East Governors led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, called on the federal Government to look into the issue of insecurity in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

Governor Hope Uzdimma, who doubles as the Chairman of the Progressive Governor's Forum espoused that the South East is still a part of Nigeria, thus calling for national concern. In the meeting, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, expressed concern over the issue of insecurity challenges in the South East, stressing his commitment to partner with the south Eastern Governors to arrest the problem of insecurity in the south.

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who is the former Chairman of Economic Financial and Crime Commission (EFCC) also brought to prism his understanding of the economic and social menace caused by insecurity, sensing that the presidency is deeply committed to fight insecurity.

Also, speaking at the meeting, The newly elected Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, pointed out that the problem of insecurity is at a result of massige unemployment and high cost of living ... On the question of Sit-at-Home, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State defined this as a Criminality, stressing that the people of the South East are peace loving people and does not indulged in the break down of Law and order.
