Lagos Federal High Court has sentenced Courage Ipaka, who impersonated Nigerian singer Flavour, to two years in prison for defrauding a U.S. woman of $53,000.
Ipaka used Flavour's identity to promise shows in the U.S., receiving payment via Bitcoin. EFCC investigator Azibagiri Dan Ekpar revealed that the funds were converted to Naira through Ipaka's bank accounts. The court also ordered Ipaka to forfeit ₦7.9 million to the victim and offered a two-year sentence or a ₦2 million fine.
