The Senate has commenced the screening of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun for confirmation as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), following President Bola Tinubu’s nomination. Kekere-Ekun has been acting CJN since August after Justice Olukayode Ariwoola’s retirement. In a letter dated September 24, 2024, Tinubu urged the Senate to expedite her confirmation.
