Empoli forward Emmanuel Ekong scored his first senior goal in a 2-1 win over Torino in the Coppa Italia second round. The 22-year-old, son of former Super Eagles midfielder Prince Ikpe Ekong, opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a header from Nicolas Haas' delivery. Torino's Ché Adams equalized, but Haas secured Empoli's victory with a 90th-minute goal.
Ekong's goal marked a key moment in his career, coming in his ninth senior appearance. Previously, he scored 24 goals for Empoli's youth sides and is eligible to represent Nigeria, Sweden, or Italy internationally.
