The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have sent a seven man inspection team to look at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo in view of the 2027 African Cup of Nations joint bid by Nigeria and Benin Republic.
The delegation arrived the Attah International Airport in Uyo yesterday and will begin their inspection of the facilities available at the stadium and other designated venues to host the competition in four years.
"A seven-man CAF team arrives Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo for a scheduled inspection of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium ahead of 2027 African Cup of Nations joint bid by Nigeria and Benin Republic," a message made available to journalists said.
Nigeria is striving to host a major competition again since the 2000 AFCON which the country co-hosted with Ghana.
“Now, they (Super Falcons) must be celebrated, honoured and paid all their dues,” Mouktar added.
