Arsenal had initially planned to arrive in France on Monday evening for their match. However, their flight from Luton Airport was significantly delayed, causing the squad to land in France late on Monday night.
As a result of this development, manager Mikel Arteta and center-back William Saliba conducted interviews with a select group of reporters over the phone instead of holding a scheduled press conference. Typically, UEFA would impose fines on clubs that fail to attend their pre-match press conferences.
However, Arsenal will not face any penalties in this case, because the delay in their arrival was beyond their control.
On Monday evening, William Saliba expressed confidence that he and his teammates would still be able to perform at the necessary level to secure a victory against Lens.
Arsenal fans, are you happy?
