The Manchester United attacker, Mason Greenwood has been inactive since January 2022, since he faced legal troubles related to content published online.
The allegations against the 21-year-old attacker, which included charges of attempted rape and assault, were dismissed on February 2, 2023.
Following a six-month internal investigation at Manchester United, he entered into a loan agreement with Getafe. Both the club and Greenwood mutually agreed that it would be the best course of action for him to rejuvenate his career 'away from Old Trafford'.
The Getafe fans welcomed Greenwood's arrival with enthusiastic cheers, but there was a contrasting reaction from a small group of Osasuna supporters located in one corner of the stadium
Greenwood's shot, which was blocked, led to the corner kick that ultimately resulted in Getafe's winning goal, propelling them into the top half of the table.
The choice made by Getafe to acquire Greenwood has faced criticisms from a domestic abuse charity in Spain. However, the club has justified its decision by pointing out that the vibrant footballer is no longer under criminal investigation.
Welcome back Mason!
