A delegation from Kenya yesterday arrived Lagos, Nigeria ahead of the maiden edition of the president's cup and the Dr Winifred Awosika Foundation's African Youth Scrabble Championship, organised by the Pan African Scrabble Association.
The delegation was led by Jeremiah Lomorukai, who is the Governor of Kenya's Kurnana County, the reason behind his visit to Nigeria is not unconnected with that of his team interest in youth development and rapid growth of scrabble as sport in his country.
While in Nigeria, Lomorukai is expected to pay a courtesy call to Oba Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II and Dr Winifred Awosika, the Founder of Chrisland Schools.
Players from 14 countries have arrived Lagos for the four days tournaments starting from tomorrow.
